Bridge of the Gods - Opening Scene

We then stopped in Cascade Locks and the BRIDGE OF THE GODS. The bridge crosses over the Columbia River and connects Columbia River Hwy in Oregon to Hwy 14 in Washinton. Beautiful area! Please do research on the Cascade Locks area because there is so much to see and do and its so beautiful. Unfortunately we didn't get to see as much as we would have like to. So just check it out! We stopped right at the bottom of the Bridge of the Gods, which is the bridge that Charlie and Bella drive over in the police cruiser on their way to Forks. We then went over the bridge which had $1 toll fee and it took us from Oregon to the state of Washington!

Multnomah Falls ~ Baseball Scene

Next up was the MULTNOMAH FALLS. The falls are only briefly seen in the movie when Bella and Edward are walking to the baseball field. And also you can see the falls in the background while they are playing baseball and when the nomad vampires come. I think there are more scenes that were deleted and in the extras on the DVD. And you've probably seen pictures of Bella & Edward talking in front of the falls.Very beautiful area! May not be a very big part of the movie but everyone needs to stop here to see the beauty!

 

 

 

 

The View Point Inn ~ Prom Scene

Next up, The View Point Inn is the location of the PROM SCENE! As most of us know the View Point Inn caught fire in the summer of 2011. It has sat ruined and empty since. Not only is the building in bad shape but the property itself hadn't been mowed or maintained at all. It is all overgrown, the fountain is torn out, and a lot of the Twilight bricks from the pathway have been removed/stolen. However, I have been hearing that the Inn is now being renovated to its original state and hopefully will be finished by Spring 2014. So that is great!  The view of the Columbia River from the property is spectacular also!

 

 

 

I Know What You Are Scene

On to OXBOW REGIONAL PARK, the scene where Bella tells Edward "I know what you are." We drove on a beautiful windy road until we got to the entrance of the park. There is a station at the front to pay a $5 donation. The park is beautiful so if you have some time definitely set out on the trails and enjoy some of Oregon's beauty!! The exact scene location was difficult for us to find at first. If you are able to find a park ranger, they should be able to point you in the right direction to the scene location. The filming area is located between trailheads D and E. If you get to a large gravel parking area you have gone too far. Right next to the location is a little pull off area and on the opposite side of that is the filming site right near the road.
